Getting closer to some drywall..

I some how was motivated enough after driving to Reisterstown to pick up the Jeep to finish the master bedroom door way. Here’s a picture:

I have to pick up the shower pan and shower parts from Fergusson today so that’s why I had to get the Jeep. I only put in an hour or so at the house last night, but I was able to get a few pictures of some stuff we did on Sunday. My Mom and Dad are coming down tonight to help me with light placement and probably stand around and BS for an hour or two before having some Resurrections.

Anyway, here are some more pictures.

HVAC chase downstairs in the living room. This will sort of serve as a seperation between the living room and the dining area since the first floor is mostly open space.

Master closet. You can see the ductwork from downstairs continuing up and into the ceiling. This picture makes the closet look small but in person its actually pretty deep. I need to decide on some doors for it so that I can finish framing the opening.

Hopefully be able to get my framing inspected soon…

Should be more updates to follow.

More Plumbing…

Well all in all it wasn’t that productive of a weekend. I finished the door framing for the guest bedroom and the upstairs bathroom. That leaves the master bedroom door opening to finish tonight. There was plenty of back and forth with my Dad regarding our current lack of running water in the house.

As the plumber pushed ahead and knocked out the majority of the plumbing I showed in the previous pictures, he had to disconnect the toilet and sink upstairs where the old bathroom was previously. I am waiting to hear back from the plumber regarding getting a wash tub we bought connected in the basement so we have some where to wash up. This is pretty critical since we still need to wash the brick down with a muriatic acid/water solution.

I am waiting on the shower base and the rough-in parts for the shower and the tub from Fergusson. Hopefully that stuff will be here tomorrow so that I can pick it up.

Here are a couple more pictures of some other plumbing that got done last week:

Plumbing…way ahead of me…

Well the plumbers are moving at light speed. They need a bunch of diverters and stuff to finish the rough-in. I am trying to go to Home Depot and Ferguson at lunch. Anyways here’s some pictures from when I was at the house last night to mark the kitchen sink, dishwasher and washer dryer in the house so that the plumbers knew for today.

That’s all for now. Hopefully get the plumbing parts I need today at lunch. Also need to pick out closet doors. Trying to finish the closets and chase this weekend…

HVAC Underway…

I stopped by the house last night to take the trash out. I was supposed to play tennis with Jimmy but the damn lights weren’t on. Then I decided I was going to run instead and take the trash out on my way back. However, when I got inside the house the temporary lights wouldn’t come on and I could see that some duct work had been installed. After using my blackberry to find the only flashlight in the house I made my way down to the basement to figure out why the lights wouldn’t come on. Turns out the two receptacles in the basement we had been using to power everything had been turned off at the panel. In the process of messing with the breakers I flipped the furnace on by accident…man is there a lot of plaster remnants still inside the ducts. Haha.

After I got the lights on I wandered around the house looking at what the HVAC guy had gotten done so far. I was kind of shocked anything was done because when I spoke to him Monday it didn’t sound like he’d be starting until middle/end of the week. This is great news because we can frame in the chase this weekend.
Supply and Return between the dining/living room. This will get framed in to become the chase.

Duct work coming up through the floor from downstairs. This is a continuation of the duct that falls in the chase downstairs. These ducts will be hidden in the master closet.

That’s pretty much all for now. I have a meeting with Canton Kitchens today to pick out cabinets and granite. Seems like things are starting to come together finally.

Kitchen Renderings

Thanks to Canton Kitchens I got some renderings of the kitchen this morning.
